Plancherin d'Arêches can be enjoyed in the traditional way, accompanied by toast and fruit. Alternatively, it can be reheated and served over roast potatoes, or added as a topping to a pizza. And even baked in the oven like a Mont d'Or!
Unique creation, the Plancherin d'Arêches is a farmstead cheese produced by a young woman from a small village in the Alps “Arêches-Beaufort”, as passionate by her job as by alpine skiing. The Plancherin d’Arêches gathers two traditions: the wrapping of the cheese with spruce wood and the breeding of goats. The result is a miracle, just like its creator, full of height, personality and balance.
Tasting Notes: Soft heart, very creamy. On the nose it is subtle, woody, goaty. It has notes of fresh and lactic when young, creamy and complex when more aged.
Pairing Suggestion: Full-bodied red wine (Cornas, St Joseph), Brown beer.
