Pair it with a fruity red wine or a brut Normandy cider, to balance its creaminess and powerful flavor. Savor each bite with a slice of lightly toasted country bread for an authentic gastronomic experience.
Camembert is certainly the best-known and most copied cheese in the world. But nothing beats the Camembert de Normandie AOP, made with raw milk, a cheese that's unmistakable, unmovable, a symbol... Marie Harel is said to have adapted the Brie recipe on the advice of an exiled priest to create the first Camemberts. It also became a national symbol thanks to the invention ofthe wooden box at the end of the 19th century, which enabled the cheese to travel without being damaged.
Tasting Notes: White rind with brown pigments, pale ivory paste which can be chalky. Mix of mushroom, barn, high quality fermentation, cream and butter on the nose and full and deep, animal and complex, milky finale in the mouth.
Pairing Suggestion: Red fruity wine (Beaujolais - Touraine), Blond beer, Cidre.
